Magical Balloon Michael has been making balloon creations ever since he was 4 years old. After seeing a magic show air on TV he wanted to be a Magician. On Christmas morning that year his dream came true when he opened a present from Toys For Tots and got a Magic set complete with a balloon twisting kit. The magic set was rarely used, but the balloon kit went to good use. After only three balloons he created his very first balloon animal, a little white rabbit. After trying many other fields, including a stint as a Pro Wrestler during which he even won a championship, he decided to make his balloon creations a full time career. Magical Balloon Michael is currently offering balloons and magic for every occasion.

New February 2008
Febuary 2008
Let's start with something pretty simple, my polka dot swirly.
2 260s, any color
1 11" Polka Dot or Spray Round
Fully inflate both 260s and tie them together. Make a 6" bubble in each 260 and loop twist it. Repeat so you have four loop twists. Spiral the 260s together and add the 11" Polka Dot or Spray on top. You can do this with any 11" print like the Globes, Agates, etc. Play with it, have fun.
Up next let's turn that swirly into a hat. To do this just skip the second set of loop twists and spiral then wrap the spiral into a loop. You may want to split it in the back, either way this fits most heads. Here is one done with a 16" Globe and two white 260s.
The fish is another one of my favorites, it uses three 260s and an 11" print. Inflate two of the 260s leaving a 1" tail and tie them together. Make a 1" ear twist in each one and tie the 11" spray to them. Wrap the balloons around and twist them tight at the back. Bring the balloons back around to the front and twist them into the ear twist at the front. Pop and tie off any extra. Take the third 260 and inflate it leaving a 1" tail, tie it in a loop and split it. Wrap it at the back for the back fins.
I made this hat at a local restaurant and a young twister asked me to show him how I made it, so I did and now I will show all of you.
This is based on Don Caldwell's Bowling Hat in Balloon Magic 42, but I've made some adjustments.
You will need
1 11" Agate Blue any color but Blue is my favorite for this hat.
2 Betallatex Doll Shapes (Any Color)
2 Blush 350s
2 White 646s (Not Needed).
Inflate the Blush 350s leaving a 3" tail and tie. Make a 2" ear twist in each of them and twist them together. Now inflate the agate to the desired size and tie it to the ear twist you just made on the blush 350s. Draw on finger holes. Wrap them around the person's head and twist them together. Make a 2" ear twist in each of them again to stabelize the hat. Make two 2" pinch twist at the ends of the 350s. Inflate both Doll Shapes to look like bowling pins and tie them to the ear twist on the blush 350s. I stuffed one Doll Shape into a White 646, it makes it a little smaller but it also makes it white. The other one I left so that you can see what a difference the white 646 makes, both in shape and in color.
You can also wrap a uninflated red 350 around the pin for the red stripe but this is the quicker line work version that I'm showing here.
Quick and simple.
